A short note on the new site. What changed, what stayed the same, and why a refresh was due in 2026.
Welcome to the new site. The old version had good bones but started silting up after a few years: newer services had no proper spot, page speed went down, and the structure no longer reflected what I do day to day. Time for a refresh, not a full revolution.
What changed
Faster. Most pages now hit a green PageSpeed score on mobile. No tracking scripts before first paint, images optimally delivered, critical CSS under fourteen kilobytes. The same approach I take with clients.
Clearer structure. Four main topics: AI, RPA, website management and digital transformation. Under each you find concrete services plus sub-pages for specific questions ("build an AI assistant", "hire a UiPath developer"). No more hidden tabs.
Multilingual. The site is now available in Dutch, English and German. Useful for clients who work internationally or need English documentation.
Customer reviews. The homepage features stories from entrepreneurs and clients who have worked with me. Not anonymous numbers but stories you can actually use.
Customer accounts. Anyone who has run a project with me can log in to manage their reviews, update their details, and get easier support on future engagements.
What stays the same
The working method. Listen first, advise next, only then build. If something doesn't make technical sense, I won't build it. Sometimes a well-organised spreadsheet is the best solution. That rule stands.
No jargon. A short tour on the homepage walks you through all four services in plain language, no sales pitch. Click through if you have time, or swipe on your phone.
Short communication lines. WhatsApp, LinkedIn, phone or email. Whatever works best for you.
Under the hood
For the technically curious: this site runs on a custom flat-file CMS I built in PHP. No WordPress, no headless stack with thirteen services, no database for every piece of content. Markdown files and YAML, with SQLite where it really matters (reviews, accounts). Fast, easy to maintain, no messy plugin ecosystem waking me up at 2 AM.
Hosted with a Dutch provider, HTTPS everywhere, GDPR-friendly analytics (no Google Analytics), daily backups. Boring stack, and that is by design.
What is still coming
A few things are queued up for the next phase:
- AI assistant on the site. A chat widget that can answer questions about my services, grounded in the content of this site. Going live later this month.
- More cases. Three portfolio items to start with, with concrete project stories added in the coming months.
- English and German blog. Translations of existing posts, plus regular new articles about what I run into in client work.
